Beta League 1st Feb Information

Please see message from Aberdeen Amateurs
Our LTS are in until 1330 so can I ask that swimmers don't go into the changing rooms until 1315 then be on poolside before the lessons come out at 1330. This saves congestion in the changing rooms and we also ask our swimmers not to leave belongings in the cubicles.
The international school now has a strict security policy and all visitors to the pool must take a yellow lanyard from the security desk at the main doors into the school on their way in.
Just a reminder also that caps must be worn in the pool.

Bridge of Don Amateur Swimming Club will be holding their Annual General Meeting at The Alex Collie Sports Centre, Bridge of Don, Aberdeen on Thursday 19th March 2015 at 7pm. For further details and instruction on proposals to amend the club Constitution or Bye -Laws can be found here. Please see here for the Agenda and here for the draft minutes from the AGM 2014

Beta League 1st February

We are currently very short of swimmers for the next Beta League, due to take place on Sunday 1st February at the International School pool, warm up 1.30pm. Although the deadline to enter this meet is Friday 23rd January, we would be grateful if anyone who can enter can let us know by Tuesday, 20th January, so that a decision can be made on whether we need to withdraw from this fixture. We have had great support at the beta leagues so far this season and we very much want to avoid withdrawing if at all possible. If you can help please tick your name on the list at the pool or e-mail Tracy on , thank you.

Water Polo sessions 2015

A new term of the Scottish Water Polo Academy at the Aberdeen Sports Village starts tomorrow and welcomes our swimmers to come give it a try.   It's appropriate for club (strong) swimmers aged 11 up.  Younger and less experienced swimmers would be appropriate for the new mini-polo programme also starting tomorrow.    If swimmers can't make it along tomorrow they are welcome to start the week after.

Club Championships

Our annual Club Champs gala being held on Saturday 20th December, is approaching very quickly.

We still need helpers to make sure the meet can run smoothly e.g. selling raffles, programmes, marshalls etc. Please consider offering your assistance and post your name on the notice at the pool. Your help will be greatly received.

There will be two large raffle prizes and we intend to hold a bottle/ chocolate tombola on the day. To do this, we would appreciate it if every swimmer could bring along a raffle prize of either a bottle or a chocolate/ sweetie gift.

Remember to wear your favouite Xmas hat or head wear - best one wins a prize!

Could all swimmers participating at the meet, please be on poolside by 8.45am. Events start at 9.30am and we should be in the church by 4pm for pizzas and prize giving.

All swimmers will need to take a packed lunch and enough snacks and drinks to last the day.

Panto arrangements

For all going along to the Pantomime at the Tivoli on Tuesday 16th Decmber

The show starts at 7pm so please meet at the front door 6.30pm to 6.45pm (at the latest)

The show should finish at just before 9pm so please arrange to meet your children at the front door.

Last year we were able to use a room at the theatre to hand out tickets and have parents collect their children, hopefully we will be offered the same this year. So when dropping off, please check with one of the committee, coaches or parents attending the panto  - as to where to collect your children.
